When I was in college, I was a big-time hugger. No one got away from me without a hug or came near me without a hug.
I don't know why I like hugs so much, but I do. I think it has something to do with the fact that non-verbally we are saying "I need you near me right now". Whether is through laughing or crying, playfull or serious times, it's powerful.
Today in church, someone who I care about, just walked up and wrapped their arms around me in a warm embrace. I literally just stood there soaking it in. No one around here is a hugger like me, so when someone does hug I take it all in! It almost numbed me. For that moment, I remembered what it was like for a pure, honest hug.
There is one person who gives the best hugs ever - my friend Christine. By far, the best hug ever and I miss it this summer while she's away. If you like hugs, I'll get you here number!
So basically, I miss the hugs. Are we ever too old for a great hug? I hope not. I think Jesus hugged those he was around. Why not! It's great!
