Thanksgiving

As I sit here, trying to write a paper that is due Monday, I can't help but think about the wonderful time I've had during my Thanksgiving break. For the first time in three years, I was not working the day after Thanksgiving and I was able to actually rest on my break. Thanksgiving was a bittersweet day. My grandmother is still in the hospital and we drove to Malvern on Thursday to pay a visit to her. She seemed to be doing okay, but it brings up so many memories of last December. It was only last December that I lost my grandfather. It seemed that because G-ma wasn't there and then with the second absence of my grandfather, the holiday just wasn't the same. It was hard to be excited about the meal with family because the family was not complete. However, the food was wonderful and we ate lots. As mentioned the day after was spent in Little Rock where my mom and I literally shopped 'til we dropped! We were two of thousands of idiots that ventured out into shopping centers around the U.S.. We had a great time and actually got some Christmas shopping done.

More than time spent with my family, it was great to be able to put school off to the side for a few days. Don't get me wrong, I've got plenty that I could be doing, but I'm rejoicing in the fact that I am out of Waco and able to do nothing! It's great! I'll be regreting it by Monday, but for right now, I'm happier than a fat pig in the sunshine!
