Okay, this is not what Jesus had in mind as he cried his last words from the cross, but the semester has come to an end. Not only has it been a long, tough semester but it has been such a blessing in my life. I have had great teachers who I learned from, not only in the classroom, but in life. While time for friends has been few and far between, I was able to recognize who the true friends were, for they stuck around in the hard times which were filled with complaining and at times anger.
The long awaited foundation year internship for my social work degree starts in January. Do I feel prepared? Not necessarily, but my teachers assure me that I am. I will be working at Helping Hands Ministry in Belton, Texas. I'm excited about putting my education into practice as well as learning more about the work that is called social work.
The new idea coming out of my crazy mind is that of pursuing a doctrate after graduation from Truett and Baylor. I know this is far-fetched, but I really took a great interest in the synoptic gospels after my scriptures 3 class this semester. Who knows, maybe I'll never finish school!
Sophie and I are looking forward to Christmas and going home for two weeks! I can't remember the last time that I had so much Christmas spirit. I'm in the mood for Christmas carols, decorations, and all the food. Let the good times begin!
