Helena-West Helena

Well, it's been a long time coming, but I have finally arrived in Helena for my internship. I got here on Sunday and it's been a whirlwind since I crossed the city limits. I think like most things in life, we always have that moment when we realize that we may have totally misread God's direction. I've had that thought on more than one occasion this week. However, after that is said, I must follow with the statement that says I truly believe I am where God wants me to be. It doesn't matter how much preparation, how many meetings or conversations, you are never quite ready to walk into a situation until you are thrown into it. I've spent the week trying to meet as many people as I could. I've meet the Delta Jewels and some of the kiddos from the Community Center. It's been a good week, but I'm glad it's Friday!

I think this weekend will be spent seeing historical sites here in Helena. There's not a ton, but there are Civil War battle sites that I want to check out.

I really appreciate the prayers and thoughts as I begin this last Social Work journey. I'll keep you posted!
